The Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG) has released the Executive Summary of the 2026 HLPF Sectoral Paper, highlighting why education is essential to addressing the world’s most urgent challenges.
With SDG 4 on quality education significantly off track, the paper calls on governments to increase investment in public education, strengthen support for educators, and ensure inclusive learning for all. It also shows how education underpins progress across multiple goals, including water and sanitation, clean energy, innovation, sustainable cities, and global partnerships.
Education, especially Education for Sustainable Development, is key to building just, peaceful and sustainable societies.
