The Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG) has submitted its official sectoral paper ahead of the 2025 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), highlighting the indispensable role of education in addressing today’s interlinked global crises.

The paper provides a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of ongoing geopolitical conflicts, economic uncertainty, gender inequality, and the climate emergency on education. It presents policy recommendations and demonstrates how education (SDG 4) serves as a cross-cutting enabler for the 2025 HLPF focus SDGs.

The EASG calls on Member States to prioritize public financing for education, adopt gender-transformative and climate-responsive education policies, and institutionalize youth and civil society participation in SDG processes.

The submission reinforces the collective message that without urgent investment in inclusive, equitable, and quality education, progress across the SDGs will stall—particularly for those furthest behind.
