About the Event

Across the UNECE region, the rise of far-right, anti-gender, and anti-rights movements threatens hard-won progress on gender equality, human rights, and climate justice. As these challenges grow, civil society continues to mobilize, resist, and build alliances to defend democracy and human rights for all.

This side event will bring together feminist, LGBTI, and human rights activists, academics, and experts to discuss strategies for collective action against anti-rights backlash. It is an opportunity to learn from frontline defenders, exchange insights, and strengthen movements committed to justice and equality.
