Official Thematic Session of the Major Groups and Other Stakeholders at HLPF 2025
The 2025 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will feature the official Major Groups and Other Stakeholders (MGoS) Thematic Session titled “Delivering the 2030 Agenda: Aligning Global Processes Through Inclusive Multilateralism.” Taking place under the auspices of ECOSOC, this session brings together diverse voices to examine how inclusive, people-centered multilateralism can be revitalized to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As global inequality, political fragmentation, and backlash against human rights continue to grow, the session will focus on the vital role of civil society, trade unions, and other stakeholders in defending democratic spaces and ensuring the promises of the 2030 Agenda are delivered for all.
This year’s thematic focus includes SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
Session Objectives:
Explore urgent actions needed to defend and revitalize multilateral cooperation
Highlight partnerships advancing gender equality and decent work
Examine how global frameworks (e.g. CSW, FfD4, World Social Summit) can reinforce each other
