At the Summit of the Future (SotF), UN member states missed a critical opportunity to reform the International Financial Architecture (IFA), despite their commitment to a “new beginning in multilateralism.” Instead, the outcome entrenched the status quo, leaving essential reforms to undemocratic institutions like the IMF and World Bank. As the Fourth Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) approaches, the Civil Society FfD Mechanism urges member states not to let this failure hinder meaningful progress in FfD4 negotiations.
