As the Summit of the Future unfolds, the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG) stresses the critical importance of prioritizing education within global governance discussions. The Pact for the Future, emerging from the Summit, must acknowledge education—especially Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)—as a driving force for societal transformation. The current text, however, overlooks the transformative power of ESD. EASG calls for greater recognition of education’s role in achieving the SDGs and urges civil society and educational stakeholders to be central to shaping global policies.
